Award-winning music artist/producer and decorated Navy veteran B. Taylor knows first-hand the challenges that military veterans face. He also knows that veterans who are given the right tools can overcome those challenges and transition to a healthy and satisfying post-war life. With the launch of L1fe Organization, his non-profit, Taylor is pushing for a future in which veterans’ needs are met with proactive alternative and holistic solutions.
“Historically, we address the needs of service members one war at a time,” Taylor explains. “In the aftermath of WWI, the VA hospital system was created. After WWII, we saw the birth of GI benefits. That type of response might have worked in the wake of large-scale conflicts involving a military draft, but they don’t fit our modern military framework. We now employ an all-volunteer force. We can no longer afford a triage approach to force readiness.”
With Veterans Day approaching, it is the perfect time to assess the ways in which veterans in our community can be better appreciated and served. The L1fe Organization — which is pronounced “One Life Organization” — is joining that effort by empowering programs focused on connecting military, veterans, first responders, and their families with cutting-edge wellness strategies designed to create the optimum service member lifestyle movement, Post Growth!
“Our mission is to employ alternative healing therapies to help our active duty military, veterans, first responders, and their families treat the rising number of mental, emotional, and physical health issues that come from combat, deployments, and military life,” Taylor explains. “To move in that direction, we are shifting the focus toward a more up-to-date approach to health.”
F.O.C.U.S. is an acronym that Taylor and his team have developed to explain what makes the L1fe Organization stand out in its approach to post-war therapies. It stands for:
- Forging the optimal lifestyle for service members
- Offering proven strategies
- Centralized services
- Unparalleled connectivity
- Solving the service member wellness challenge
L1fe Organization is building a suite of core programs that will focus on addressing some of the most pressing issues that veterans face, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injuries, suicide, homelessness, depression, and anxiety. The Wellness Program includes a comprehensive list of therapy and support services that provide a one-stop shop for improving physical and mental health.
Counseling services are one of the resources included in the L1fe Wellness Program. They include assistance with connecting with Veteran Service Organizations, securing housing, pursuing education, and finding employment. They also include assistance with navigating VA benefits, which veterans and their families say can often be a daunting task.
Other therapies that veterans can experience through the L1fe Wellness Program include yoga, meditation, martial arts, nutrition therapy, spiritual therapy, art therapy, and equine therapy.
One of the specialty programs that L1fe Organization offers involves a partnership with the Nevada Fertility Center. Its goal is to provide financial assistance for veterans and their spouses that can enable them to achieve their dream of having a family.
“Many families who struggle with infertility do not have the financial means that would allow them to pursue fertility treatments,” says Taylor. “Our Nevada Fertility Center Program donates an intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycle to military families to help increase their chance of conceiving while removing the financial burden of treatment cost.”
The L1fe Heroes’ Experience is a program that allows military, veterans, first responders, and their families build unforgettable memories together by providing them VIP access and day to sporting and entertainment events. They include interactions with celebrity athletes, managers, sports team owners, front office executives, and celebrities.
“Sporting and entertainment events are a huge part of American culture,” says Taylor. “We believe that by helping our veterans and their families access these events — whether it’s through our partnerships with the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS, Boxing, UFC, NASCAR, entertainment events, or sponsored dinners — we create a space where our community can connect with our heroes to share a common purpose and passion.”
The L1fe Music Program is another unique opportunity offered by L1fe Organization that will bring musically talented military, veterans together with Taylor with the goal of creating, recording, and releasing music projects. Taylor sees this program as a sanctuary where aspiring musical artists can find purpose and healing through the power of music. The Project is called “ The 1 Life Heroes Christmas Classics”. The first Christmas Classic Vol. 1 was completed through the program and distributed by The Orchard/Sony Music and Sony Music Publishing. This music raises funds for veteran awareness and support.
The opportunity that the Music Program provides for veterans is especially meaningful to Taylor, who is a multi-award winning and chart-topping The Orchard/Sony Music artist and producer with three #1 hits. His music video for the song “We Are One, Love Is All We Need” was filmed in mid-2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown with the goal of encouraging national unity. The video, which casts military personnel from all 5 branches, veterans, the VA, first responders, and the NFL Tampa Buccaneers, in a leading role, was shown during a 45-second Super Bowl LV 2021 Pregrame in Tampa, FL. A remix version of the song is scheduled to be nationally released December 25th,2022 with an updated version of the video ft. J.Michael Harter and country’s big new rising black female group, finalists from America’s Got Talent, the Chapel Hart Band.
