Reimagining your lifestyle starts by finding the perfect dream home. A great real estate agent is vital to the search and can make the overall process a much more enjoyable experience. Yusuf Yolasan is passionate about walking people through this journey.
What type of work do you do?
For a while, I worked in marketing and later managed business development departments for corporate fashion retail. While I was at the top of my career, I wanted something more fulfilling. So, I moved to the U.S., to work in real estate, where I would be able to touch people’s lives a bit more directly.
Of all places in the U.S. why Miami?
To start I just want to say that moving to Miami was one of the biggest decisions of my life and has proven to be the right one. Every state in the U.S. has its own character and rhythm, each with its own particular attractions. However, I find Miami a magical and booming city exploding in culture as a global hub for business, art, and luxury. Miami is incredibly international, has one of the fastest-growing economies, is sunny almost all year long, has breathtaking views, and lots of outdoor leisure activities.
What does a day look like in the life of Yusuf Yolasan?
I wake up at 6:00 am. First of all, a cup of black coffee is a must. I walk my two beautiful French Bulldogs in the park overlooking the water, a benefit of being in Miami. While walking my kids I do my daily affirmations and welcome the sunrise which energizes me for the rest of the day. I return home for a quick breakfast, then head for the gym. By 9:00 am I’m ready to start work. With a fresh mind, I prioritize my daily activities and plan my entire day. I start by making important phone calls and by responding to important emails. After 7 pm, I’m ready to relax and spend the evening with the people I love.
What hobbies do you have in Miami?
I love being on the water. I love listening to my favorite playlist while running on the Venetian causeway enjoying breathtaking views of the Bay and yachts in the background. Running outside where so many others are also working out is inspirational and energizing. It’s a great place to melt away stress. And then to mix things up I regularly play tennis or lap swim outdoors. Finally, you can’t live in Miami without taking some time to just veg out by the beach or the pools.
What is a must-have for you in life?
There are 3 must-haves in my life, your health, your mission, and the people you love. I try to live as good and healthy a life as possible by eating well, exercising consistently, maintaining a positive mindset, and sleeping appropriately. I have a mission with specific goals set in writing, and I surround myself with people I love.
Why are you passionate about real estate, Yusuf?
Buying a home is often one of the largest and most important purchases someone will make in their lifetime. I get to help people from all stages of life, different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences make this huge decision. It’s exhilarating to be part of this and it’s interesting to constantly meet new people. Furthermore, it affords you the opportunity to become part of a community and to develop relationships with people. In a way, you get to see people transition through phases in their life. Eventually, some clients then become sellers. Clients put a lot of trust in their real estate agent when it comes to selling one of their most valuable assets. I love being afforded this trust by my clients.
What freedoms do you have as a real estate professional?
Being a real estate professional has its perks. I get to set my hours and decide on my priorities. I can be flexible with how I plan my week. It also affords me the ability to really balance work and life priorities. However, this freedom also requires you to be self-disciplined, and to have superb time management skills, if you are to make the most of your days, weeks, months, and years. For me it’s perfect.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?
Ask yourself if you’re passionate about the process. While there are significant reasons to work in the industry, it’s not easy to do it well. You need to be personable and helpful to your clients, self-driven, a go-getter, and finally, you need to have a business mindset when it comes to negotiations which is critical. And always be honest with your client.
What advice would you give to someone searching for a real estate agent?
There are many agents to choose from. A good agent will try to learn about you, your lifestyle and your housing needs before they even take you on as a client. They will want to make sure you are a good fit with them in order for them to best serve your needs. Just because they are licensed in your state, does not mean they are an expert in the particular area you are looking to live.
Yusuf Yolasan is one of the top real estate agents in the Miami area, and he can’t wait to help even more people find their dream homes.
