On Tuesday and Wednesday, Zuckerberg fielded questions from the House Energy & Commerce Committee on everything from Facebook’s revenue streams to how data collection actually works. CEO Zuckerberg apologized for Facebook’s lapses in safeguarding data and outlined his plan to prevent future abuses. But some members of Congress, such as Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.), called Zuckerberg’s non-answer to whether Facebook would change default settings to minimize data collection “disappointing.” Social media users on Facebook’s biggest rival agree. Twitter gave the hearings 81 percent negative sentiments, and many say Zuck’s troubles are far from over. If nothing else, Twitter users are reaping memes from the hearing, mocking everything from Zuckerberg’s booster seat and his water-drinking habits. Unfortunately for Zuckerberg, those memes are probably the only thing Twitter liked about the hearings. –Hugo Guzman
