On a recent flight to Washington, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tex.) was treated to a first-class seat by the airline, while another passenger (who paid for her ticket) was bumped down to make room. That passenger took to Facebook to complain about her treatment, and Lee shot back by accusing the ticketholder of racism, saying that she wouldn’t have complained if Lee were not a black woman. Playing the race card is rarely a good move in Social’s book, and online voices are responding by giving Lee 85 percent negative sentiments. It’s not the first time Lee has made headlines for her Devil Wears Prada-like behavior. In 2014, Washingtonian magazine revealed that Hill staffers had voted her the meanest member of Congress, citing workloads and harsh criticism. Rather than shape up, Lee seems to have taken pride in the title. “You don’t understand. I am a queen, and I demand to be treated like a queen,” Lee allegedly once told an event organizer, according to Fox News. –Hugo Guzman
