The Facebook CEO was already under fire for his company’s failure to prevent Russian propaganda from spreading like a political plague during the 2016 presidential election. Then last week it was revealed that UK-based data-mining analysts at Cambridge Analytica used personal information collected from Facebook largely without people’s permission to aid its clients, mostly American political candidates such as now-President Donald Trump. Zuckerberg remained silent on the matter for several days, although Cambridge Analytica was banned from FB’s advertising platform. Finally, on Wednesday, Zuckerberg spoke with media outlets and apologized for the breach, saying that he was willing to testify before Congress if he was called to do so (the calls are already out). He also suggested that the social media network needs regulating. But Zuckerberg’s apology may not have been enough to sate Social’s anger. Zuckerberg is getting 84 percent negatives online, with many saying he has lost their respect due to his slow response. –Hugo Guzman
