Thank You…Simply thank you.
Family court and custody arrangements need to be rebuilt from the ground up. A system that was put in place to empower SAHM’s, to level the playing field as it stood in the 50′s-70′s era is horribly outdated today…Children are not the property of the mother or the state or anyone. Children have to right to a stable loving relationship with both parents, to expect support, not just money from their parents. We know the horrible cost of tossing dad’s out of kids lives, yet it is an underlying threat even in middle and upper class relationships that if “he” doesn’t meet her standards, She can exert the power of the state to rip him out of any meaningful parent child bond.
It simply needs to stop. The denial that women commit DV is part and parcel of the “official” ideology of family law…summed up as MOM = special snowflake, DAD = replaceable ATM
Food for Thought:
Should our family law system always err on the side of having dad’s involved in their children lives in a 50/50 way regardless of economic ability to pay child support?
