More and more is being asked of teachers every year, but we have the same amount of planning/grading/conferencing time as teachers have always had.
Every time my administration asks me what my department needs for professional development, I say time.
They demand our students do more writing but don’t give us time to mark up that writing with meaningful feedback. I spend three hours almost every day after school, and still cannot get done everything I need to.
