Electronic Arts has announced plans to release its first major NBA title in years since the cancellation of NBA Elite 11 when it releases NBA Live 13 late this year.
The last time EA attempted to release a Basketball sim back in 2010, it turned out to be a basketball sin. The previous title, NBA Elite 11, was set to release and was then delayed and mysteriously cancelled. Citing the need to not release something it wasn't proud of, EA hasn't released a Basketball sim since 2009, giving the NBA 2K series a few seasons with the court to itself. The arcadey NBA Jam series saw a few entries in these seasons, but this release marks a serious attempt by EA to compete with 2K games. Will the release of NBA Live 13 be enough to take down the 2K series after two of its best seasons yet? EA will reveal more about the game soon.
