Dating a hippie woman can seem like a walk in the park, but it too takes a lot of effort on your part if you want to impress her. We’d like to present our dating for hippies guide to making it easier on you when it comes to picking the ideal date idea. Below you’ll find some conventional suggestions with a hippie twist to ensure the date is actually doable and your wmoan is left in awe.
#1: Brunch at the Park
By its nature, a brunch is relatively short because you’ve had breakfast already so you’re not super hungry, and you wouldn’t want to spoil your lunch by eating too much. If you prepare a picnic basket with a nice table cloth, yummy food, and a drink your hippie date will be more than impressed. Choose a park that isn’t packed with little kids and dogs running around so you have some privacy to enjoy a romantic moment or two, and either meet up during her lunch break at work or on a Saturday before heading off to do other things with friends or family.
#2: Outdoor Concert
During summer most towns are bustling with free outdoor concerts around every corner. Choose from jazz along the beach to rock music downtown, and take your hippie woman out to enjoy some good music without breaking the bank or even spending a dime. Google your area to check out all the outdoor venues that host bands on the weekends. Free concerts usually don’t last for more than 45 minutes to an hour so you can squeeze them into your schedules without much trouble.
#3: Old Movies
Instead of taking your hippie woman to IMAX to see the latest Marvel release, which you’d spend an arm and a leg on if you want to get popcorn and a soda, take her to a movie theatre playing an older movie from another decade. The cost will be insignificant compared to seeing a blockbuster, and the time spent at the movie theatre won’t be nearly as long because there is no line-up and older movies are much shorter than today’s. This can be a surprise date if you can find a movie theatre showing her favorite film from the ‘80s or ’90s, especially if she prefers to see motion pictures on the big screen instead of on a television set.
#4: Book Store Café
We’re not talking about your big bad wolf bookstore that put little Kathleen Kelly out of business. No, we’re talking about a small, local book store that also doubles as a café, where the titles are old and dusty, and the crowd unassuming. A true hippie at heart loves pursuing books and giving her this opportunity will cement you are as a keeper. Pick a nice, sunny day and spend an hour or two sipping coffee and browsing through a bunch of books most people have forgotten about.
#5: Afternoon Museum Tour
Many museums offer discounts on ticket prices one day of the week late in the afternoon. Pick a museum and find out when that is. They usually close after about two or three hours so you can’t really spend all day discovering culture and art, but you could definitely get your money’s worth even if you just stay for a few hours. Your hippie woman will like the thrifty side of your date, and a chance to explore a landmark with you. So many of us go to museums when we travel, but don’t know the treasures that are right under our noses. A true hippie would like to explore those treasures with you.
