They would helm any front-line efforts to combat climate change, so it’s little wonder that neither one is very popular on Social. After all, both have expressed doubts about the veracity of climate change. Pruitt has said that he doesn’t consider human activity a major contributor to global warming; Zinke told reporters in 2014 that rising ocean temperatures were probably to blame. Social’s love of Zinke has shrunk faster than the polar ice caps: He has fallen to 35 percent positive sentiments from 68 percent last year when he was first revealed to be President Donald Trump’s pick for Interior. Pruitt’s rating has remained relatively stable, but he’s still at only 22 percent positive. One of Pruitt’s former University of Tulsa law professors has even expressed regret for “unleashing him on an unsuspecting public,” according to HuffPo. Professor Rex J. Zedalis wrote in an op-ed for The Santa Fe New Mexican that he has spent countless nights tossing and turning over passing Pruitt. Relax, professor. Social is failing him. –Hugo Guzman
