Along with the domestic animals, they are the architects of this landscape, shaping it slowly over millennia.
However, this relationship is not one way, the ecology has moulded its human inhabitants too, imbuing them with a deep sense of nature and respect for the non human world.
It is a primal reciprocity, a joyous interplay of species, as well as the biotic and abiotic elements of this place.
This long dance has left us with a landscape of deep and abiding beauty which acts as an optimistic message of hope for all our interactions on and with this small blue planet.
