Intolerant of pollution and disturbance, they are bellwethers of the wild and pure places.
Here, bathed with Atlantic airs, they find the full expression of their Buddha like selves.
They garland tree and rock and some of them have grown here since before man stepped back upon these southern shores.
Seemingly insignificant, they are in truth a magnificent encrustation of form and colour.
As ever, great beauty lies hidden in plain sight.
