Storm after storm has lashed these Atlantic shores and grey day has merged imperceptibly into Stygian night.
These weeks have been a masterpiece in countless shades of grey.
Yet this evening, fitful as it is, the palette is readied once more and glorious colour returns to the sky.
The wrack still pours from the West, yet the corner is turned.
Soon the sun will bathe this meadow with golden light and she will respond with a floral ballet to enliven the senses.
