Where do you draw the line between venting for emotional release and complaining that only keeps the negative emotion in a cycle?
Many men have a problem opening up and expressing emotion due to social constraints on the “acceptability” of male emotional expression. Getting men to open up and express can be a tough battle, for the man himself and those around him. Once he does open up, there is often a flood of negative emotion that can end up in a regenerative feedback loop where the negative emotions feed on each other and grow.
What is the best way for men to open up and express while avoiding the tendency to slip into a cycle of negativity that often ends in the blame and shame game?
We put it to you, our writers and experts, to help us navigate more productive expression and processing of male emotions.
