Over time the human brains have evolved to keep us safe in the worst situations. We all have some moments of joy and contentment phases. But how unfortunate the fact is that most of us are afflicted with persistent negativity. That’s the reason you would find yourself starving for happiness most of the time because we have literally lost the tracks to it. So, is it possible to stay happy and make our lives positive?
Yes, it’s possible!
Certainly, it’s hard to stay happy, probably it’s not going to happen overnight, but it’s possible to do that. Happiness is different for every individual. It’s there, always been there inside you, but all you need is to uncover it, letting you free. And that’s exactly where me being your happiness coach will help you. A few tweaks to your daily life can open doors of happiness to your life. So, without further due, let’s get straight to the five essential steps towards happiness.
1# Start prioritizing your happiness
As mentioned earlier, the happiness is there inside you. All you need to do is dig it out. For that, the first thing you should do is prioritizing it. We are so inclined to put others’ happiness before our own, and not only that, we also justify doing that every time. As a result, we’re left with unhappiness and stress. I’m not asking you to be completely selfish but align your happiness with the making your loved ones happy. You can still care for your family, friends, and colleagues while looking out for yourself. Yet, you will be more likely to perform better at comforting others when you are happy yourself. So, start finding the things that make you happy, whether it’s painting, watching a good series, going out alone, walking, or drinking at the seaside.
2# Stay away from negative people
Spend your time with people that genuinely make you happy. The company we keep has a strong impact on us. If you spend most of your day surrounded by toxic people, you will eventually become negative and never taste happiness. So, surround yourself with the positive people, It might reduce your social circle’s size, but you will be happier.
3# Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken
In order to be truly happy, you need to let go of the fake personality you carry with yourself. Most of us do that to get socially accepted, make new friends, get in line with our colleagues, but it destroys our inner happiness. So, you need to get rid of that version and start acting like who you really are. That’s special and makes you different from everyone else. Be the best version of yourself, and be proud of it. Stop carrying about what opinion people hold for you. As far as you’re not hurting anyone, not doing anything morally or socially unethical, you’re good to go. Once you start acting like that, you will feel the relief that you had never felt before. This new freedom feeling is called happiness, my friend. Never forget, it’s your quirks and nuttiness that applaud your awesomeness.
4# Be kind and forgiving
Kindness is the key to happiness. It makes you a bigger and better person. No one gets poor or small by showing respect to others. Forgive the people who have done wrong to you. Don’t hold any grudges for the people because it leaves your heart heavy, and you can never be free and happy with a heavy heart.
5# Be thoughtful and open
Stop keeping things to yourself. It one of the worst habits that the majority of us have adopted over time. They hold things to themselves and hide their feelings even from the closest people. You need to be honest with them and let them know what you feel about them. Express your love and care. If there is any misunderstanding, clear it out as soon as possible. Don’t let this bad habit take happiness from your life. A silent heart can never be healed. Start speaking your worries loud, ask for advice from the people you look up to. This will open doors to happiness in your life.

Life is too short to stay unhappy. So, get up and start taking chances to make your life joyful. Fulfill your dreams and start living. Try new things and do everything but never stop taking chances. The worst that can happen is a failure, but that will still give your fulfillment because you tried at least.
