Few people experience the wide range of financial situations that Reco Jefferson has gone through during his life so far. He grew up poor and struggled in his early years as a young adult. Now, he runs and owns several e-commerce businesses and has made a name for himself as a successful entrepreneur.
Reco Jefferson grew up poor, living in Mississippi and then Jersey. He considers that to be among the most rewarding parts of his existence, considering his current place in life. He is proud of his accomplishments, overcoming that background and building a seven-figure business. Jefferson originally found his current line of work by accident. As he told us, “I was broke and needed a way out in order to make ends meet. I fell into the dropshipping world by chance.” He continued, “[I] used the money from my software career to grow my business.” The path from being broke to being massively successful was not instant.
Jefferson found the inspiration for his work growing businesses when he realized how much he likes to give advice to his friends. When he finally got his first paying job, he knew he was on the road to success, and, over time, the payments grew. By the time he hosted his first mastermind, he felt a great deal of satisfaction with his career. As Jefferson explained, “I had no idea that so many people were willing to travel to me just to get advice.”
Over the years, Jefferson learned what sets entrepreneurs up to success. He said, “You have to show up every single day. Forming good, small habits will lend to larger ones in the future. Habits lead to structure that will enable you to build businesses.” Jefferson did not have to hunt for his team because they found him, thanks to his social media presence. They eventually brought in more employees who have the skills Jefferson requires.
Before starting his business, Jefferson served in the Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he pursued a career as a software engineer. That past experience has served him well. As Jefferson told us, “The fact that I had an actual career before going all-in with business [makes my business unique]. I have the experience from both sides, so when talking to clients, I can understand their pain points and frustration better.”
Jefferson offers an example of how determination and forming good habits can lead to success. He has made a name for himself in both his ability to grow businesses and help those who run them, with expected future growth in his business consulting.
