Real dads step up and help their daughters whenever the need arises, even if it’s in a duet from the “Frozen” soundtrack
—
If you’re a parent, there’s a very decent chance that your family has listened to the soundtrack to the Disney hit Frozen an inordinate number of times over the past few months. And, when I say “inordinate,” I mean really, really inordinate. I mean, a non-stop, totally unrelenting amount of letting it go on a daily basis and asking your kids “Do you want to build a snowman?” to the point where it’s lost all meaning. It’s a sublimely catchy soundtrack and, even though the repetition might start to wear on you after a while, you have to admit—they’re fantastic, extremely sing-a-long-able songs. And if they’re inspiring our children to sing out loud or lip-sync with happiness and wild-abandon, even if that inspiration hits them fifteen times a day, who are we to criticize?
But kids aren’t the only ones who are having a blast singing along with Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez’s songs from Frozen. Dads are getting into the act as well, standing in as Hans and Kristoff whenever their daughters need them. The song with the best “dad-daughter duet potential” on the Frozen soundtrack is definitely “Love Is an Open Door” and, if you spend some time on YouTube, you’ll find a bunch of videos of fathers and daughters lip-syncing their intentions to finish each other sandwiches. Here are some of our favorites.
These might be some of the greatest dads in the universe.
Remember the adage: “No greater love hath a man than he who willingly acts a fool to make child smile.”
Something like that.
