Subscription boxes. They’ve hit the world by storm as of late; it’s basically like receiving a carefully-constructed birthday present each month. Instead of getting some ugly socks, though, you’ve got a cute little stationery set that makes your heart leap with joy. Let’s look at the top five boxes that have got you covered.
Papergang — the brainchild of Oh Deer, unequivocally the cutest stationery brand around, hangs down — is just so lovely. Each month they collaborate with a different artist to provide you with a cornucopia of fun.
What’s more, every box helps plant trees, with 36, 037 trees planted to date. Papergang work closely with their charity partner Tree Aid to manage this lofty feat. Boxes are normally £14 a month for those in the UK — but they are currently offering a half-price deal on their social media. We love to see it.
You want to know the most annoying thing about beauty subscription boxes? When you find your new fave product, and it’s only a mini. You then have to buy a full-sized product, probably at a high price. Well, Love Goodly give you full-sized premium products that are all-natural, non-toxic, vegan, and free from any cruelty. The cost of the box is $29.99 every two months.
Most of the products are marketed towards women, but can be used by anyone. Love Goodly is women-founded, women-led, and women-run. Founders Justine and Katie wanted to make healthy and environmentally-friendly living feel accessible to women. Their products range from bamboo toothbrushes to vegan leather purses and face creams. They have partnered with a plethora of charities, including Farm Sanctuary, Cure Cervical Cancer, Beagle Freedom Project, and Paw Works. Yay!
Ecocentric Mom is a super cute company. Each box from this does-what-it-says-on-the-tin brand comes with five or six wellness products for mom and baby. Products include sleep serums, nipple creams, ice cream teethers for the little one, a peaceful mama box of tea and eco-friendly and bamboo cutlery. They offer gift boxes, so you can treat your friend. At $33 a month, it’s a little on the pricier side, but they do offer one-off special boxes if you don’t want to make it a regular thing. They also uplift great charities — like Haitian organic coffee growers — over on their Instagram. Awww! Smiles all round.
HelloFresh is a food subscription service that provides health and sustainably-sourced meals. According to the site, HelloFresh customers waste 21% less food than those mere mortals among us that buy from a supermarket. The site delivers fresh ingredients to your door, and you can choose the frequency. Amazing! Meals start from £3.44 if you’re in the UK.
greenUP want to inspire people to ditch plastic for good. This company provides you with eco-friendly, sustainable and reusable options which are zero waste. The vast majority of the products are vegan (apart from the wool dryer bags). This helps you reduce your carbon footprint, and step away from plastic stuff. This box is a little pricier, but reflects the cost of the items inside. $42.95 every two months.
