International Kissing Day is July 6, 2016.
—
In February 2013, Ekkachai and Laksana Tinarat of Thailand, set the world record for the longest kiss, locking lips for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds!
• How will you be spending International Kissing Day?
- A friendly Kiss on the Cheek?
- With a passionate Smooch?
- Will you Kiss and Tell?
Kissing is an expression of love and affections around the world.
Kissing has been the subject of hundreds of songs including— It’s In His Kiss, Are You going to Kiss Me Or Not?, Kiss Me Baby and Kisses Sweeter Than Wine.
And don’t forget the legendary rock band KISS.
There are movies—from Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Vampire Kiss, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye.
And theatre—Kiss Me Kate and Prelude to a Kiss.
Whether a friendly peck on the cheek, a wooing kiss on the hand, or a deeply passionate expression of love and lust, kissing is universal.
We Kiss Hello, we Kiss Goodbye, yet we also refer to the Kiss of Death and send off love missives that are Sealed with a Kiss and when we are unhappy, we tell someone to Kiss Off!
You may Kiss the Bride or Groom are the closing words of a marriage ceremony.
And if you believe in fairy tales, you can Kiss a frog to find your handsome prince.
But Oh – That First Kiss!
• Do you remember? The tingly feeling just before your lips meet?
• Was it your best Kiss, the most memorable one that still makes you smile, or heat up inside.
• Was it everything you expected or were you left wanting more?
• Was there one that got away, the one you wish you had Kissed?
• Do you Kiss your loved ones hello and goodbye? Some people never leave the room without a farewell kiss.
• In the United States, we commonly kiss only one one cheek when greeting friends. Why do people in other countries Kiss on both cheeks?
• Do you fight and then Kiss and Make Up?
• Did you ever work in a kissing booth? Or plop down a dollar for a kiss?
• Have you ever had a bad kiss?
• Share with us what the meaning of a Kiss is for you.
• Tell us about that special Kiss and the special someone you kissed.
• Why is Kissing so important as an element of human touch and connection?
