Episode 4
One of my favorite parts of Big Brother, or Celebrity Big Brother, happens at the beginning of the show when they show a short video clip from the previous show. This episode’s clip was courtesy of a sort of whiny Lolo Jones who, talking about fellow Olympian Ryan Lochte, said this.
“He’s mine! That’s MY homie.”
Congrats, Lolo.
As the show opens we’re reminded again of the possibility of an all-girls alliance, but before things got worked out there was BREAKING NEWS on the TV monitors.
Apparently, no one noticed Anthony Scaramucci was missing because he popped up on the screen to talk with the houseguests. Apparently, the Mooch was never really a player in the game, but a plant by CBS, for a twist they unleashed.
In an ironic, and I’m sure planned, exit, Scaramucci left the Celebrity Big Brother house on day 6. The same number of days he lasted as Trump’s White House Communication Director.
Kudos to whoever came up with the idea to let him go day 6.
This twist of having Scaramucci in the house was revealed and called Mooch’s Veto. Scaramucci had been there for the first veto competition in the last recap but there was to be a second veto ceremony and therefore another chance for someone to pull themselves down and be safe.
Is anyone seeing a small problem with any of this?
Mooch was on the block, so as Head of Household (HOH), Lochte had to name someone to replace Scaramucci. And if someone were to use the power of the Mooch Veto, that would be yet another person to put up.
That’s digging into Lochte’s list of comrades. Not good.
So replacing Mooch with Real Housewife Kandi, Lochte said, “I’m putting you up because our personalities don’t mesh.”
Harsh.
The competition showed a large number of headlines about Mooch, some which were true and some that were not. The players had to guess the correct number of true headlines and whoever guesses right or closest, won the right to change nominations.
Imagine everyone’s surprise when Kato Kaelin of all people won at a mental competition. Apparently, he does pay attention more than he lets on.
With Jonathan Benett on the block with Kandi and Kato, Green looked at the camera and said, “I’m in a final two alliance with Kate Kaelin. Hollywood is weird.”
True ‘dat.
In the end, Mean Girls vet Bennett went home and I know I said yesterday that Lochte needs to stop making little phrases out of his name, but the truth is Lochte looked shockte when he realized his bromance was going home.
What will happen now? Check back starting tomorrow (Jan 28) and the rest of week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday for more recaps. You can find past recaps here.
