We have been around for a million plus years
And have yet to be destroyed by an alien
Species that we know of
The world thus far has survived
Pestilence, genocide, slavery
Auto tune
Okay, we will not survive auto tune
But eventually our species needs to
Transcend our reptilian brains
We need to shake off our egos
Find our true selves
Not this world
We are born to die
To clasp the cosmic hand
To climb the highest mountain
To hit the high notes
To fall in line
To wander aimlessly
Without contact
Other than what’s up
This is what we are here for
To argue endlessly into the night
With ourselves
To know our maker and destroyer
Our Prozac and pain all in collusion….
We must die
But first we must live
If we have the chance
