The world’s population is at 8 billion, numbering an immense amount of advanced consciousness, across stages, on the planet.
What does consciousness interpret of the world, for everyone, each moment in the population? How does consciousness work out what it means to be, and what it means to know? There are two major aspects of consciousness across states, automatic—more abundant, and controlled.
The newborn baby has automatic processes, with growth: as percolation of controlled processes. During sleep, general anesthesia, in coma, under influence of substances, in delusion, hallucinations and so forth, automatic dominates.
Controlled or automatic are relaying units. They go to destinations in the brain, where acquisitions are made. If controlled goes there, then it is a controlled process, if automatic goes, then it is automatic.
There are parts of the brain where it is said that consciousness mostly exists [the cerebral cortex], while some [the cerebellum] have lower value on consciousness. Locations in the brain have properties.
The properties for some experiences, to different degrees, can be in the same or different areas. The areas that consciousness is mostly expressed are clusters of properties for major experiences.
It is the relaying unit [or quantity], as a constant, to destinations of properties that decide consciousness, including for experiences of mental health or problems, mental illness, addictions and so forth.
Fear is known, it can be felt, it can be faked, it can be understood when happening to others, it can be made for others, and so forth, with all, as experiences where cells and molecules of the brain would show activity under neuroimaging, but the experience is not the cell and the display of neuroimaging is not the experience.
This makes a division of the brain’s operation into two: of cellular-molecular, and of experiences.
What are the rules that govern the brain’s experiential mechanisms or pathways? How does the experience of the liver or other internal organs regulated automatically by the brain, factor into this pathway? How does conscious experience decide and define existence?
In brain science, all sensory inputs converge in the thalamus, except for smell, that does at the olfactory bulb. It is where they are processed or integrated before relay to the cerebral cortex for interpretation.
Sensory integration or processing is theorized to be into a uniform unit or identity, which is thought or a form of thought. It is what becomes the version, equivalent or representation of senses to the brain. It is in this identity that relay is made. It is also in this identity, constructed or built by cells and molecules that becomes the transport of experiences. This is how the brain creates the mind.
The unit or identity can be prioritized or pre-prioritized. There is just one prioritized at any moment, with the most access to destinations and degrees. There are however, fast and numerous interchanges with pre-prioritized. Most automatic processes are pre-prioritized, where they can go on without attention or awareness, but they also sometimes become prioritized. Controlled processes are prioritized more often, but interchanges in any activity per moment are abundant.
While eating, typing, walking, working, or in any multitasking process, just one thing is prioritized per moment, but interchanges are fast enough that it may seem that doing different things at the same time but just one unit in the brain is prioritized at that moment.
While typing, words can be held in mind or subvocalized, as the hands and eyes move, and there are pauses. All these happen in an environment with vision, touch [wind] and so on. Just one thing remains prioritized.
The liver, like other internal and external processes, is regulated or controlled by the brain as the identity that relays. Processes like appetite [by the hormone ghrelin] and satiation [by the hormone leptin] are still subject to the upper construct for experiences, rather than the direct factors of those molecules.
Appetite is possible by just seeing a particular food, or a craving coming along, without the ‘necessity’ of ghrelin secretion. There could also be moods like sadness, stress, anxiety, delight, that could extinguish appetite even when ghrelin’s secreted, showing a higher determination, against the sole molecular responsibilities.
There could be matches, where secretion is equal to experience, including for cases like drug use and dopamine, but it is not always the case.
This is also advanced beyond the neural correlates of consciousness sort to explain the phenomenon, when consciousness is mostly properties, acquired by quantities across locations, to express the experience, not the neurons or molecules, in that state.
Interpretation in the cerebral cortex is postulated to be knowing, feeling and reaction. Knowing is memory, dominating the properties extents of the brain.
Consciousness is quantities acquiring properties, across the brain. It is this constant that all brain processes are subject to, and useful to understand how the brain would act or not, across conditions.
This is what consciousness means in experiences, every living moment, for 8 billion people. It presents the opportunity to understand anger, hate, extremism, intoxication, vengefulness, addictions, neurodevelopment conditions, wellness, substance use, mindfulness and so forth.
Displaying this would further enable a future of progress.
