Why the Business World Needs The Good Men Project

Good Men Project Business Team

We are here, the Good Men Project Business team is picking up steam and we’re going to tackle the money, entrepreneur, and corporate survival stories from a distinctly GMP angle.

There’s been a lot more chatter about gender and masculinity in our culture lately, from ESPN and the NFL to CSPAN and the White House. Every corner of our culture is coming to grips with this new version of the conversation around gender and sexuality.

For most of the world’s population who exists on Facebook, there is a flagbearer for this conversation: The Good Men Project. It’s not always pretty, it’s not always perfect – in fact it’s often messy on purpose – but it’s certainly where the conversation comes to get started.

Every newspaper and magazine in the country weighs in occasionally on the new wave of gender that includes male voices questioning the concept of maleness. But here, we confront every corner of the issue everyday.

Up until January of this year, there has been one sector of our society that has been under the radar on the Good Men Project… Business.

Well buckle your seatbelts. We are here, the Good Men Project Business team is picking up steam and we’re going to tackle the money, entrepreneur, and corporate survival stories from a distinctly GMP angle.

Why Cover Business?

Did you know that “men were twice as likely as women (32 percent to 17 percent) to say their manager’s actions had damaged their self-esteem”? We did.

Did you know that 87% of us are emotionally disconnected from our work, and that people who do find meaning and significance in their work tend to derive 1.7 times the amount of job satisfaction of the rest of us? Emotional disconnection… I’ve heard that somewhere before.

What about all those times when sex & relationships cross over into work territory?

Or when it’s time to talk about gender policies at work?

Or when we strike out on our own to start a business and fulfill our long-stilted dreams?

Or when we talk about being fathers as well as businessmen?

It’s time. Come join our conversation. Send us your business, entrepreneur, or work stories and we’ll send you ours.
