The Chicago author who tells people “You Ain’t Sh*t has a new self-help book full of truth.
—
December 14th, 2014, I turned 28 years-old and my company, Techbook Online, turned five.
Since the founding of the paperless marketing and news organization, I’ve written and published hundreds of articles across channels and platforms, but I’ve never authored a book, though that’s in my five year plan.
Thinking back on the last five years of my life and all that took place – both good and bad – if I were to have written a book that summed up my experiences, it would read something like Mr. Richard Taylor’s new publication, “Between the Dream.”
A sagittarius, I pride myself on being a free thinker…. an individual … someone with original, uniquely connected life happenings and goals that shouldn’t be compared to others. However, in this moment of the hustle, I’m comparing myself to Mr. Taylor, 26, and that makes me feel great about my journey towards 2019, which will mark a decade of digital devotion.
Unashamed of his experiences – some of which mirror my life and others that don’t – Mr. Taylor, in his second book, bares his soul in an effort to assist dreamers in the pursuit of happiness. He begins the 100 page self-help book with the hard truth every human being deserves to hear: YOU AIN’T SH*T!
“When they said you ain’t shit, they were right, because you were never created to lack value,” he writes in chapter one.

As a member of Techbook Online’s Board of Leaders and Doers, a world-class roster of thought-leaders, subject-matter experts and active citizens, Mr. Taylor, who resides in Chicago, calls me often to discuss his editorials and upcoming keynote speeches.
One day, when “Between the Dream” was still in the drafting phase, Mr. Taylor was preparing to travel to Louisiana to give a keynote address and wanted some advice. Since I was aware of what the first chapter of the book would be and how powerful of a message “YOU AIN’T SH*T” could be when delivered in the context of empowerment, I encouraged him to speak about that.
Hesitant because he didn’t know how it would be perceived, Mr. Taylor took a leap of faith – which is the subject of chapter 10 – and opened his address by letting everyone in attendance know they weren’t worth sh*t!
His move resulted in a standing ovation, a handful or pre-orders and a unique brand message that will be hard to rival. Mr. Richard Taylor is by far one of the most dynamic, fearless, energetic, passionate, bold and unashamed millennial authors in the world today.
From start to finish, the printed words in “Between the Dream” refuse to stay still, instead they jump off the pages and often call you to action. The message is authentic, timely and simple:
“No matter what obstacles you face during the process of pursuing your goals, remind yourself that you are not losing;’you are not failing; you are simply between the dream!”
