This Comment of the Day is from Clark Larsen, on the post Religious Discrimination & Bullying
As a Mormon, I can tell you for a fact our worship services have likewise been targeted by protestors, especially our world-wide conferences held twice a year in Salt Lake City. On top of that, our church buildings have likewise been targeted by vandals, including a building here in Utah just this past week. Yet, I understand there’s a difference. While many people in the USA may not like Mormons, we don’t live in fear as do American Muslims. When people see us at airports or shopping centers, they don’t immediately gaze at us with suspicion. TV programs which discuss Mormonism don’t often, if ever, associate us with terrorists or suicide bombers. To that end we in society need to always watch ourselves in how we view others, and I include myself in this.
