I am a 74 year old gay man, I have a lifetime partner of 54 years and we have been married 12 years this year. We are both retired and living the American dream, enjoying our lives together. Knowing that I was attracted to the same gender since I was born, by the age of 20, when I was in the Navy, I turned to God and prayed for an answer to help me resolve my conflicts about being gay. The answer was to know thy self and to thine self be true or, in other words, know who you are and be that person. That is what I did and I knew I needed to find a partner that I loved and could build a relationship with. Each of us must be ourselves as we are the only ones who can know who we are.
