Still, Democrats in the House took note of the enthusiasm both candidates produced and have decided on a populist slogan for their party as the 2018 Midterms creep closer and closer: “For the People.” The slogan is a change of pace from Democrats’ 2017 phrase, “A Better Deal,” which failed to gain any traction. As Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) recently told CNN: “The lobby of the Trump hotel in Washington is filled with lobbyists and special interests who are writing the rules to enrich themselves. We think it’s time for a real change so we can get the government to work for the people once again.” Politico reports that there are three key points Democrats will hammer home prior to November—health care, raising wages via infrastructure, and Republicans corruption. Thus far, Social is intrigued, though not crazy enthused, about “For the People.” It has a 61 percent positive score over the past three days. –Alex Shultz
