Siena as an amazing city in the center of Italy and when you visit, you will want to come back.

This video is kind of a “choose your next adventure” style. One option at the end will take the viewers to a big medieval church, in which, unfortunately, I couldn’t film. But it’s still a fun video of how I wanted to get inside. The other option will take people to a massive fortress that was built in the 16th century. It’s a bit unfortunate that it hasn’t been preserved too well, but it’s still got some gigantic walls, beautiful fountains and some big trees that I climbed on.
Since the city was relatively small, I wanted to see it all. So I went up North the first day and spent the whole day exploring every little street I could find and trying to find the best shots for the video. Then I went to the central part and eventually, the South. There was no pre-arranged plan, simply wandering around and, yeah, getting lost a dozen times!
It’s awesome to run around freely and do whatever pops into your head at the spur of the moment. I was thinking of including more locals into my videos, but haven’t figured out a really good way to do that… yet. Whenever you’re exploring a new place/town/city, make sure to get lost and be spontaneous as much as possible!
I listened to the accordion player’s music for quite a while and donated money afterwards. It was warming to see her petting her dog. She was happy, though I thought she might have been a little bit uneasy with the camera, so I didn’t film for long. I generally ask people in advance, or if they don’t speak English, I show them my camera and make sure they’re happy with me filming them. It’s generally not a problem and quite a lot of people want to be filmed.
I will simply remember Siena as a really nice city in the center of Italy and will come back there if I ever visit the surrounding area again!
