“The hetewonowmative monogamist pawadigm is what bwings us toogevah, today!”

Update 11/17/14: Apparently Dread Pirate Roberts himself (aka Cary Elwes) liked Anne’s hashtag… (See below!)
Nothing could be more fun than the classic 1980s film The Princess Bride, except maybe all the good times you’ve had with your friends exchanging famous lines and quotes from the movie. Today, Anne Thériault and friends went one better, changing up iconic quotes to create a more feminist version of everyone’s favorite movie.
Here, a few of my favorites.
“I do not mean to pry, but do you believe in equal rights for women?” “Do you always begin conversations this way?” #feministprincessbride

Well, as long as it’s understood that it’s women’s privilege to define what men’s experience means … always good to know that one’s pain does not really exist.
Otherwise, remarkable restraint! None of the usual “ironic” hate or glee about men’s suffering. This is actually a compliment! Well done. Only the one quoted slipped through.
I see one laughing over male tears, which for a site like this isn’t good to post. Didn’t they just post an article about suicide? Grow up GMP.
I now see that I only read the “top” comment selection. Ah well, I have no time for more than that.
The FIRST time I saw #Maletears from my father was when he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease/ALS and had months, maybe a year to live. That look of absolute horror when a man I’ve never seen cry before knew he was going to die. He died 6 weeks later (I got to see it happen too with his breathing stopping, paniced call to 000, etc) and at the funeral was the first time I saw my extremely macho/manly/stoic uncles and male cousins shed their #maletears, and probably the first time I showed my own #maletears in public in adulthood.… Read more »
Hold on, Archy. We are now responsible for what some person who isn’t even associated with us is doing somewhere that has NOTHING to do with us? Really?
Holy shit this is ironic
It is always interesting to take a look at the…..extracurricular activities of GMP contributors.
I didn’t think my day could be any more made by this hashtag popping up, but I am so completely delighted with making it into this… you did such a fantastic job of capturing the spirit of the moment. I see it’s still going strong, too! Thank you SO much. What a delightful thing we made!
Jackie, thanks for the comment! It was so awesome, and even on BuzzFeed today 😉
Get back, you good for nothing oaf.
I’m not an oaf, I’m your husband. But after what you just said, I’m not even sure I want to be that any more.
