LeGrande Green, host of Get BOLD Today podcast chats with Christopher Anderson, Executive Director of Male Survivor.org about breaking the silence on trauma.
Approximately 25% of male children experience some form of sexual violence. Today on our special series with The Good Men Project, Christopher M. Anderson joins us to help millions deal with the silence and the shame. His organization Male Survivor provides critical resources to male survivors of sexual trauma and their partners to find hope, healing and support.
“Male survivors tend to disclose 20 years or more after the abuse,” says Christopher. “And many say, ‘I tried to tell but no one believed me.’ We want to make sure we’re supporting all survivors, not just women and girls.”
A survivor of multiple forms of childhood trauma, Christopher has overcome battles with severe depression, anxiety disorders, and suicidal impulses to become an internationally acclaimed public speaker and author. His website is www.malesurvivor.org. You can follow him on Twitter @chander2nyc.
“Shift happens right where you are,” says LeGrande. “Be the change and get BOLD today.” Catch the latest in inspiration and entertainment at www.getboldtoday.com.
