Cohn serves as President Trump’s chief economic advisor and is also director of the National Economic Council. He’s a registered Democrat, a former Goldman Sachs executive and—at least until recently—a loyal defender of POTUS. But after Trump’s disturbing press conference last Tuesday in which he blamed “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville, Cohn was reportedly “disgusted” and “upset,” according to New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush. On Monday, Vanity Fair ran a piece explaining that Cohn was trying to decide between quitting the Trump Administration in protest and sticking around to serve as a voice of reason. There’s also talk that Cohn is being considered to head the Federal Reserve, a position currently held by Chair Janet Yellen, but that would require him to stick around at least through February when her term runs out. Last Thursday the stock market had a bumpy morning in response to the possibility of Cohn and his relatively steady hand stepping down, though he doesn’t post big numbers on Social: Over the last 90 days, he has 34 percent positives. –Alex Shultz
