I was so happy, watching my funny, happy little YouTube video, laughing my life away off into the sunset.
Then I hear it…. “Nate.”
Dang it……
“What??”
“I need you to look at something.”
That’s about right, monkey. “AGAIN!?!?!?”
She’s such a sweetie about it. And kudos to her for the courage to ask me every time she needs help! Personally, I struggle ever asking for help, even once, let alone more than that!
Yeah, doing these little things for the Mrs. is really changing me, little by little, day by day. I’ve never loved her more! It’s all the small things that add up into one big helping of appreciation.
I like the idea that most women would rather get one rose a dozen times a year, than a dozen roses only once a year. I am learning how to love my wife every day of the year. I am helping her in the details, and that’s really what makes a painting beautiful – Yep now we are talking about paintings…
See? This painting wouldn’t be what it is without the mistakes or details included throughout the piece. You know how I know it has mistakes? Cuz it’s nature! Nature is naturally imperfect. It is totally normal to make mistakes!
Yeah, I make mistakes. I look like that monkey up there quite an awful lot. I really do get frustrated almost every time I have to get up from my own thing to help her out with whatever, but mistakes help make paintings beautiful. They make them what they are. Our relationships become something beautiful, something for us to be proud of, something for others to admire, through our quirks, mistakes, and differences. We work on each other, learn how to be together in a good, healthy, happy, constructive manner, and that’s just about how it works. That’s how we get to know each other! 🙂
And to me, being a good person, a good man, a good husband — that’s my ultimate goal. That’s why helping my wife in the details puts hair on my chest.
