The Medicine Spot is where we used to go and sit quietly, becoming reacquainted with the greater environment.
–––
Here we sharpened all of our senses; listening and understanding the language of the birds in particular.
We reminded ourselves that the environment was not something out there or otherworldly—rather, it was something of us and in us, it was and is our deep contingent state.
Now, more than ever it seems, we need a place where we can unplug from the constant static of 21st century living and enjoy the experience of simple being.
It is something that I do on a daily basis; simple sitting, listening and engaging with nature.
This is my medicine for body and soul, and the medicine spot is where I learn from the mountain and connect with those who have gone before me.
