“He came to my home several times a week, where we engaged in an intimate relationship. I also would see him at home games.”
So, another woman came forward and claimed Herschel Walker drove her to get an abortion and waited in the car to drive her back home. The Republican Party met this with a collective shrug. The media focused on Walker’s hypocritical political stance, where he would deny all others the right to an abortion with no exceptions. At the same time, the women he impregnates get door-to-door service. Herschel paid for this abortion, just like the other one where the woman produced receipts with the canceled check.
The unidentified most recent woman held a press conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred, who has achieved some notoriety representing women claiming sexual harassment and rape. She has previously been in the crosshairs of the MAGA crowd for representing four women who accused Donald Trump of sexual harassment. In what is now the common practice among Republicans, they defended Trump (who, as of Sept. 2020, has been accused of 26 counts of sexual assault and 46 cases of unwanted contact) by attacking Gloria Allred and calling all the women liars.
In reading the account of Herschel Walker’s most recent accused. It struck me how low the bar has become for the Republican Party, which used to be the morality police and still has the full-throated support of white Evangelicals in support of their candidates. Without shame, Republicans support Trump, who just sat for a deposition in a rape case, and Matt Gaetz, who transported at least one minor across state lines to have sex and paid for sex with Cash App while providing the drug ecstasy. Republicans used to be prudes; they impeached Bill Clinton for having consensual oral sex with Monica Lewinsky. They now look away at rape, both forcible and statutory, and just after getting rid of Roe v. Wade, support abortions.
Back to Walker, the woman said she had a long-standing affair with Herschel from 1987 to 1993. Walker was married the entire time to Cindy DeAngelis Grossman, who separately accused Walker of physical assault and threatening to shoot her fucking head off. Walker was married to Grossman from 1983–2002, much of that time sharing Walker with the Jane Doe that just came forward.
Not only did Jane Doe come forward, but she also brought receipts of their relationship.
“I do not believe that Herschel is morally fit to be a U.S. senator, and that is why I am speaking up and providing proof.”
She brought three cards (kudos to Walker for being a thoughtful lover), and she had a hotel receipt from a Mankato, MN hotel near the Minnesota Vikings training camp while Walker was with Minnesota. The press is focusing on abortion, abortion, abortion, while not raising the question; if Walker will cheat on and lie to a woman to whom he said he loved and swore fidelity. What will he do to his constituents, whom he mostly doesn’t know?
Republicans are showing you and will tell you their only interest is in power. A reliable vote in the Senate is more important than the person’s ethics. They are willing to live with their cheaters, rapists, racists, and lunatics for the right to come for your Social Security and Medicare now that they’ve checked Roe v. Wade off their bucket list.
As for Walker, he has said he has suffered from “Dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder.” Walker says he’s “cured,” though mental health professionals say it doesn’t work like that. Others believe he suffers from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive brain disease resulting from all the hits and concussions he received as a football player and MMA fighter. The key word is progressive.
Republicans once would have found Herschel Walker unfit to be a dog catcher, let alone a U.S. Senator. It speaks more to Republicans and their lack of standards than Walker, who literally may not know better. This is the natural progression once you back a man who says he can “grab women by the pussy.” #Shame!
