I’ve always lived somewhere on the outskirts of authentic connection.

In my avoidance of meaningful relationships, I had bought into the lie that my fear sold me: that I must do it alone. This wasn’t exactly a winning equation as I got older, as the sum of my fear equated to addiction problems and a whole lot of internalized hell.
I went on a quest to find what my life was about… I wanted to find every single damn thing that made me the happiest man ever.
|
Yet, it also led to a lot of me-questioning, which was the catalyst to figuring out what I wanted most out of my life. Five years ago when I hit rock bottom, I went on a quest to find what my life was about. I made it exciting; I didn’t just want to ‘find my purpose’; I wanted to find every single damn thing that made me the happiest man ever.

What I found was that…at the cornerstone of humanity is connection.
|
What I found was that in my willingness to be honest and true to myself, I was rewarded deeper meaning, and yes, that sometimes elusive thing called happiness. I also found that at the cornerstone of humanity is connection. We can not achieve what our self and soul has been put here to do if we do not link up with others.
We can make any choice in life that we wish to, but it is the integrity behind our choices that matter.
|
Sure, our life rests on the ability for us to awaken to our personal responsibility, yet it also depends on our ability to serve others with that responsibility. We can make any choice in life that we wish to, but it is the integrity behind our choices that matter.

I was at the live taping of Inside the Actor’s Studio with Matthew McConaughey where I watched a wise man speak about the domino effect of our actions and the importance of having a mindset that stretches beyond our self-wish-list, and positively affects the highest number of people involved.
McConaughey warned that the less integrity-based our decisions are, the more we’ll be looking over our shoulder in life and the sooner the phone will stop ringing.

…you have a purpose that transcends your fears.
|
Well, where in your life has the phone stopped ringing? What in your life have you put on hold yet are itching to jump in the saddle of once again? Whatever comes to mind is what your soul, and stomach, needs you to drink a gallon of. Drink that shit down and digest it because you have a purpose that transcends your fears; you have a reason behind the confusion. We all do.
When we can create time and space for our self-growth, we can accomplish things we once deemed impossible.
|
There is a method to the madness of life, and I’ve found that when we can ask ourselves specific questions about why we are where we are, and where we want to go from here, we can be rewarded with specific answers. When we can create time and space for our self-growth, we can accomplish things we once deemed impossible.
The only thing that’s impossible in life is getting to where we want to go without the willingness of effort and change. Mentally, Physically, and Spiritually, we are just beings of untapped resources and power.

We are all complete packages, we’ve just got to tear through the wrapping paper and dig a bit…
|
Many of us have hidden talents that lie dormant, just as I did for so many years, and now, it’s time we wake them up. Together. We are all complete packages, we’ve just got to tear through the wrapping paper and dig a bit under the surface to discover our well of unlimited possiblity and strength.
Perhaps when we tap into our authentic strength, we’ll all of a sudden be asking not only how we can be the happiest person we can be, but how we can help others be the happiest people they can be.

That’s where our power resides. In connection and in community.
