All the moments which have passed through your awareness were full of living love. Joy, interest, boredom, pain, they were all simply passing by just like you.
Stop for a moment to ponder your own beginning and end. Not life and death, but your true beginning, your true ending. Both of these live in the present and never leave. Your beginning and ending pass thru what we call our self. Hasn’t this always been the case?
When you were angry you became anger. When you were happy you became happiness. This living, unfolding “I” experience is always. Always here, always changing, always happening.
In relationship to the world including our wives and children, we are observing them pass by us over and over and over. What we become in moment-to-moment awareness is undefined until we shape our awareness.
Imagine standing thigh deep in a gently flowing river. Let the river be a substance that allows itself to be shaped, so that as it passes by you can push it into hills, carve it into hollows, and they flow on by as you do, holding the shapes you have given them. Choose a splash and it stays in the air. Draw a smile and watch it float on by. Draw a frown.
The present is a river of awareness each of us shapes for a moment. This moment.
