This may be an odd question, but see what happens when you ask yourself this:
Do I make decisions on my own behalf, or do I unknowingly “outsource” my decision making to others — family, community or society?
You may think, “Of course I make decisions on my own behalf! How could I not?”
But you’d be surprised how many men I talk to who realize they’ve been following old scripts, patterns and obligations, rather than the truth of what moves, inspires and feels in integrity for them!
Ryan Michler started the Order of Man to help men return to the roots of masculinity. He has a community of tens of thousands of people and recently wrote a book, Sovereignty, that explores where your choices come from and how to empower yourself to live a meaningful and inspiring life.
We had a powerful Man Alive Podcast conversation about this and discussed:
- What sovereignty is and the shift that happens when you let go of shoulds, expectations and asking for permission
- How stepping into being a provider more fully can call you into greatness, rather than be a burden
- The path from entitlement to deliberate and purposeful action
- The realm beyond winning and losing: the benefits of striving for mastery
- The power that comes from recognizing we ALWAYS have a choice…even when it doesn’t seem like it
Even men at the top of their game find themselves wanting more from life. Man Alive is the resource for men who want more meaning, a bigger impact, unshakable confidence, a hotter sex life, more money, deeper love, solid friendships or a powerful legacy.
