I have one. I’d like to write about it, about a brotherhood that is formed not unlike that of men in battle, but seeing such defamed, besmirched by callous, insensitive verbiage such as “bromance” precludes such and it demonstrates how utterly misunderstood, how utterly degraded such friendship are that we have to pin silly, almost homoerotic labels on them, the same labels that we rebel against when placed upon other groups. DJ, you hit the nail on the head. I HATE the term “bromance” which clearly depicts a man on man romance. I have countless close male friendships, the bond between us can’t be described with words. “Bromance” “BFF” trivializes these relationships.
Editors, by qualifying these relationships in this manner, you’ve eliminated a substantial segment of men who would have responded.
This leads me to encourage DJ to write an articles accordingly, an article that addresses this issue.
Well, I’m done commenting here as of tonight, Tom, and was on the verge of cutting this from my internet list, but there have been too many voices coaxing me to write, and where GMP is just a media company, and not a player, perhaps more articles from our standpoint are really what is needed.
