Millions around the country are blaming the organization, which has long lobbied against gun control measures, for shootings like the one on Feb. 14 in Parkland, Fla. The shooting, which targeted Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, left 17 dead and has galvanized gun control advocates around the country, putting the pressure on companies to cut their ties to the NRA. United Airlines, Best Western, and dozens more have already done so, and the movement to boycott the NRA is gaining ground. #BoycottNRA hits 58 percent positive sentiments online, with most social media users saying that it’s the right thing to do. Of course, there are hold-outs. FedEx announced on Monday that they won’t be cutting ties with the NRA despite its support for gun control. “FedEx has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs or positions on issues,” the company said in a statement. –Hugo Guzman
