In recent weeks, a slew of actresses and models — including Twin Peaks star Ashley Judd — have accused him of sexual assault, or worse, in investigative stories by both The New York Times and The New Yorker. Many, such as Barack and Michelle Obama, have condemned Weinstein. Others, like Lindsay Lohan and Woody Allen, have tacitly defended him. But one response in particular has not been well received by social media. The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik penned an op-ed in the Times last Friday describing the entertainment biz as an industry rife with sexual harassment. But it was her suggestions about dressing modestly and not flirting with men that drew ire. “In a perfect world, women should be free to act however they want,” Bialik wrote. “But we can’t be naïve about the culture we live in.” Some saw her comments as victim blaming, and “Mayim Bialik + Op Ed” gets 78 percent negatives. Bialik has expressed regrets, saying on Facebook that simply dressing modestly can’t protect young women. –Hugo Guzman
