Bad parents often have good intentions but don’t realize their parenting style is not good for the child. Whether your style is lawnmower parenting, helicopter parenting, or tiger parenting, all of these are bad parenting styles. They can lead to the child having difficulties that can include depression, anxiety, and focusing on the negative.
Being faced with challenges and failing is necessary for growing and building resiliency. Yet parents who are helicopter parents or lawnmower parents don’t allow their kids to experience any of this so they are not prepared for the real world.
The children grow into adults that blame others, give up on things easily, and have difficulty handling conflict. There are also other names for lawnmower parenting such as bulldoze parenting and snowplow parenting. Other types of bad parenting styles include underparenting, narcissistic parenting, and outsourcer parenting.
Be sure to watch this video so you can avoid these parenting styles.
