New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is used to being one of the most popular players in the NFL, but after a totally unnecessary cheap shot on Sunday, he has fallen out of favor with Social. During the Patriots-Bills game (which New England won 23-3), Bills rookie cornerback Tre’Davious White intercepted a pass thrown in Gronkowski’s direction. White appeared to have gotten away with pass interference on the play, but Gronkowski’s reaction was in no way warranted: After White had been tackled, Gronkowski body slammed him again, causing White’s head to smack against the turf. White suffered a concussion, and Gronkowski has since been suspended from his team’s next game (against the Dolphins). He apologized for his dirty deed but is also apparently appealing his punishment. Gronkowski has never been suspended before, though he’s been fined for his actions during games on three other occasions. If he ends up sitting out against Miami, he’ll lose $281,250 of his salary. White, meanwhile, is being treated for the concussion, and there’s been no indication of how long he could be out. Over the last day, Rob Gronkowski has just a nine percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz

“Here’s the thing about The Good Men Project. We are trying to create big, sweeping, societal changes—–overturn stereotypes, eliminate racism, sexism, homophobia, be a positive force for good for things like education reform and the environment. And we’re also giving individuals the tools they need to make individual change—-with their own relationships, with the way they parent, with their ability to be more conscious, more mindful, and more insightful. For some people, that could get overwhelming. But for those of us here at The Good Men Project, it is not overwhelming. It is simply something we do—–every day. We do it with teamwork, with compassion, with an understanding of systems and how they work, and with shared insights from a diversity of viewpoints.” —– Lisa Hickey, Publisher of The Good Men Project and CEO of Good Men Media Inc.
