Treating yourself well means waking up every morning and saying to yourself, “Today I want to do this, this and this,” and then you get up and go do whatever it is you want to do. No apologies, no guilt, no shame (although I highly recommend against going out and committing acts of violence).
All the people on earth having a nice time…this is what they do.
That’s it. It’s not magic, or reaching another level of enlightenment.
They simply wake up every morning and ask themselves, “What is it I want to do today?” And then go do it.
On the flip-side, the people having a shitty time wake up every morning and ask themselves, “what does everyone else expect of me?”
It’s important to remember that the people we attract into our lives will only treat us slightly better than we treat ourselves. That’s the truth. So, if you’re waiting around hoping someone else comes along and loves you, Just. STOP. Now.
Every past partner you’ve ever had was attempting to teach you that loving yourself is your job, and be honest, most of them sucked at loving you because you sucked at loving yourself too.
So, start loving yourself. This includes but is not limited to:
– Quitting the job you hate
– Stopping purchasing thousands of things you don’t need, wasting your time and resources
– Not enduring the company of the people you don’t resonate with
– No longer listening to conversations in which you have no interest
When you cut all the crap out, and decide to just live an honest, authentic life doing what you want to do, you will feel good and love yourself. It’s as simple as that.
So, if you’re a spiritual seeker hoping you will discover what it means to “Feel good,” within yourself, but never give yourself what it is you really want, and believe by becoming “enlightened” it somehow will help you…I’ll be honest, you’re screwed.
You can only “Feel good” by doing what you love. No apologies, no guilt, no shame, and again I’m highly discouraging you go out and commit acts of violence.
Start with being nice and kind to yourself, and do this by doing what it is you want to do, and stop enduring the things you don’t.
When you feel good and love yourself is when you’ll attract your tribe.
It really is that simple.
