Maybe you’ve read some of the press about Teen Vogue being “woke”– and it’s true! They are tackling important social issues in thoughtful and insightful ways. And this month, they profiled our very own POPS the Club student Jessica De La Mora in an article about incarcerated parents:
“Before I went into POPS . . . I kept to myself. I felt like I was trapped in a box when it came to the subject of my father,” she says. Since she joined the club, in 10th grade, Jessica recognized that she needs “to let go of my shame and really love who I am, with or without my dad being in my life.”
We love this kind of attention! If you have any media contacts who might be interested in learning about POPS the Club, let them know about the work we are doing! And if reporters reach out to you, please feel free to answer questions but also let them know POPS is a growing organization, dependent for its strength on donors and guide them to contact Amy Friedman (POPS Co-Founder and Executive Director).
