The tide of sexism in Hollywood is changing!
But the history of sexism in the movie and music industry is layered with gender bias, misogyny, and years of poisonous and toxic masculinity
From Mon Mothma in Star Wars and Marla in Fight Club to the “male gaze” and male fantasy arc that dominates most of film history, we are awash in media that employs few women (comparatively) and purposely avoids women when they talk (see Geena Davis interview below).
So join us Monday night at 7:30 PM EST on the phone to tackle sexism and the tired tropes of modern stage, film, and radio.
And we’d also LOVE to have you in our Facebook #StopSexism Social Interest Group.
