Rape and sexualized assault are a problem in many countries all over the world. Different cultures are taking their own approach toward reducing the violations whose consequences reach beyond what we can immediately see. In Nairobi, Kenya, a program teaching boys to respect girls has helped to reduce rape by 50%.

A new allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh surfaces, this time from his years at Yale. The latest from me and @JaneMayerNYer: https://t.co/o8nTmjw2Vg

Should a Supreme Court Justice Have as His Motto ‘No Means Yes. Yes Means _____?’
It’s an important question. Perhaps one of the questions of our time.
.
We want to read your point of view.
- What if we were to teach boys early to respect girls and women? It’s a great idea and the lessons have to come from teachers who demonstrate positive, non-toxic masculinity. Do you have an example of a program that does so?
- What if perpetrators—regardless of gender or sex—were held accountable for their actions?
- How can we, as a society, make it safer and easier for victims (or “survivors,” as many prefer) to report the crime sooner rather than later?
- How can we solve this at the root of the problem?
What did you learn from it all that you can share with other readers? (Be sure to include your “AHA!” moment!)
