A last-minute vote against the so-called skinny repeal by Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) saved the ACA in July, but now another attempt to do it in is being mounted by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.). The bill would eliminate funding for critical programs like subsidized insurance coverage and Medicaid expansion. According to studies by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, California and New York will take the biggest hits in terms of federal funding lost, while Cassidy’s office thinks Massachusetts will feel it most. But right now, the most intense outrage is found not in any state legislature but on social media. The bill, along with its sponsors, draws 71 percent negative sentiments. The Republican obsession with repealing Obamacare is still unhealthy, says Social, and that’s not likely to change any time soon. –Hugo Guzman
