After a former E! employee accused Seacrest of sexual misconduct (alleging that he was fond of hugging her when in his underwear, and other unchivalrous feats), an investigation was launched. On Feb. 1, the Associated Press reported that the investigation was over and insufficient evidence had been found, but questions linger, some of which are directed at Hollywood’s most powerful. Howard Stern asked Jennifer Lawrence on Wednesday whether she’d allow Seacrest to interview her on the red carpet at the Academy Awards on March 4, while Jimmy Kimmel was asked the same question by Variety that same day. Both responded in the affirmative, saying that Seacrest deserved the benefit of the doubt. Not so, says Social, which gives Seacrest 93 percent negative sentiments. Online, the allegations seem to have done their damage to his once-squeaky clean image.
