Bryant was in attendance for a Lakers vs. Warriors game on Monday, and the two jerseys he wore during his 20 seasons—No. 8 and No. 24—were sent into the Staples Center rafters at halftime. Kobe made the jersey swap in what would turn out to be exactly midway through his career. He won three titles with No. 8 (and Shaquille O’Neal) for the Lakers, and two more with No. 24 for the Warriors, while putting up nearly identical scoring totals. Bryant’s special moment brought out fellow basketball legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Russell, but their collective presence wasn’t enough to inspire the young and inexperienced Lakers. Los Angeles put up a surprisingly tough battle against the defending champions but fell in overtime, 116-114, after a game-winning shot by future hall of famer Kevin Durant. That’s not Kobe’s concern anymore, though. Over the last 90 days, @KobeBryant has a 76 percent positive score on Twitter. –Alex Shultz
