I think this country needs change — but I don’t want to burn down my house because I don’t like my kitchen!
Donald Trump’s visions for America sound like the ramblings of an angry guy at a bar…
“If I were president one day, I would build a damn wall to keep those foreigners out — and, hell, I’d make them pay for it! And, ISIS — those lunatics — I’d bomb ‘em out of existence! And jobs, I’d stop those jobs from going Mexico and China. I’d just stop it from happening.”

Of course, when this guy wakes up the next morning, he’ll have to confront the disappointing reality that…
- Building a wall won’t keep people out of America, and Mexico will not pay for constructing one.
- ISIS is a movement, and America can’t destroy a movement by military means alone.
- Capitalism — the very economic system that has so enriched the Trump empire — supports the free flow of goods and services. Isolationist economic policies rarely, if ever, do any good in the long term.

And finally, I’m very aware that the following extremely conservative newspaper editorial boards have endorsed Trump’s opponent.
Dallas Morning News
Houston Chronicle
Arizona Republic
Cincinnati Enquirer
These trusted, and reliable conservative news sources see the danger of Trump’s temperament, inexperience, and naive ideas. This means something.
Real change requires more than angry, insulting words. America is better than this.

The next four years are going to suck, regardless of who wins.
I guess a barrier isn’t the same as a wall….

“ISIS is a movement, and America can’t destroy a movement by military means alone.” So what do you suggest?
It’s like communism during the Cold War — it’s something that requires military strength, economic investment, and focused diplomacy.
No, not quite the same David. Somewhat similar, but can’t be handled the same. Yes investment, and military strength. But you cannot get anywhere with diplomacy with barbarians at the gate. they have no real country, or an organized approach to government, nor an economy, but they do understand absolute ruthless retaliation. That’s their diplomacy they’ll listen to.
“I want change, but I don’t want to turn American politics into a carnival of insults, fearmongering, and personal attacks.”
I hate to break it to you Dave, but American politics was like that long before Trump announced his candidacy.
“And finally, I’m very aware that the following extremely conservative newspaper editorial boards have endorsed Trump’s opponent.” Guess who is winning in those states? I live in MD. The liberal Baltimore Sun and liberal Washington Post endorsed the Democrat candidate for Governor here in 2014. We now have a Republican Governor in solid blue MD. In the end the voters will decide. The smug elitist liar has spent hundreds of millions and is now in a dead heat with Mr. Trump who has spent only a fraction of that amount. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2016/09/27/trump-raises-17-million-in-debate-timed-fundraising-push/ Sitting here laughing my ass off at people like… Read more »
Forgot to mention. I also see, in the ideal of proper policing to ensure equity for all, a standardized policy of law enforcement, a call and a movement to a national police force under the jurisdiction of the most corrupted department, the DOJ. Local police will report up through them, and if that happens, which is the next lie coming I believe, we will in fact have the American gestapo version, the Russian NKV I think they’re called, right in your backyard. IF I’m young enough when they start that implementation, I’m outta here. Literally.
Well. You agree we need a change. Good start. But a pathological liar ain’t it. More and more is coming out about her shenanigans and the cover ups for her deep in the system. If you like where we’ve been the last 8 years, given the two parties we’ve got, I’d recommend you vote Hillary. If not, and I don’t, at all, I’m voting trump. It is what it is. But I think America is truly at a crossroads to socialism. Never worked out well anyplace else, can’t imagine it will here either. This is what I project. We’ll go… Read more »
“Building a wall won’t keep people out of America, and Mexico will not pay for constructing one.” The Berlin wall never kept anyone from freedom either. As far as Mexico paying for it, I think it’s quite possible especially if your going to pull out of a disastrous deal like NAFTA. Isn’t that what negotiation is about? I get something I want and you get something you want. Maybe Trump is right and we’ve list in foreign policy and trade so many times that we’ve lost the thought that we could ever win or at least not have to lose… Read more »
Actually john, the Berlin wall kept alot of people from freedom. Many died trying to get past the wall. A few made it. We need this Mexican wall. Probably need one on the north border too when they close the south. Actually we already have a wall. It’s called border patrol. The problem is this admin cut a huge hole through border patrol wall efforts. Huge. Nafta WAS a disaster. For more reasons you think. You’d also be surprised how Mexico would pay for that wall.
All this talk of black presidents, white presidents, female president, all professing that they are the best for America, they will fix everything, and no one has yet. .
That’s because we’ve never had an Italian president, and that is exactly what we need.
Sure some things would end up missing from the oval office, and sure the secret service would be wearing fedoras and have names like, “Tony Two Thumbs”, but our problems would very quickly go away.

Lol, dj. The Italian president would not, and is not corrupt. It’s evil, but with an ethic that is at least understandable, and has a morality far above what’s been going on in that rats nest. I think what everyone forgets is that the emails are the deepest roots of this corruption. The secrecy, the deletions. The families involved through black lives matter demand transparency. Rightfully so. Not cherry picked snippets of video, whether true or not. Yet they demand the whole thing. Fair enough. Yet when it comes to hillary’s emails, the deletions and reactions are sufficient to show… Read more »
